About SepticWellFinder

SepticWellFinder helps homeowners find licensed septic and well companies. We build the directory from public license and certification rosters published by state agencies. We don't invent listings, phone numbers, ratings or reviews.

Data sources

Source	Listings
NC On-Site Wastewater Contractors & Inspectors Certification Board, Certified List by County (effective 9/26/2026)	4,052
NC DPH Well Contractors Certification, Find a Certified Well Contractor	487
Georgia DPH Certified Septic Tank Installer Companies (10/30/2026)	1,998
Georgia DPH Approved Septic Tank Pumper Companies (10/30/2026)	568
Georgia EPD Licensed Water Well Contractors (revised 9/2/2026)	178
Georgia EPD Certified Pump Contractors (revised 9/2/2026)	73
TDEC Permitted Active Septic Installers (as of 3/15/2024)	1,764
TDEC Active Septic Pumpers (as of 3/15/2024)	154

A company that holds licenses from more than one roster is merged into a single listing. Services are based on the license type. For example, an NC Level C well contractor is listed for well pump repair, and a Georgia DPH approved pumper is listed for septic pumping.

Known gaps

South Carolina: The SC DES contractor map service wasn't returning data when we built the directory, and SC LLR's well driller roster is only available on request. South Carolina listings currently come from SC-based companies that hold NC or GA licenses.
Tennessee: TDEC's downloadable septic rosters are dated March 15, 2024. TDEC's water well license viewer has been retired.
Rosters rarely include websites. Many list a person's name alongside or instead of a company name.
